Best Alternative for concrete leveling is Mudjacking and Slab Jacking...
In civil engineering, concrete leveling is a procedure that attempts to correct an uneven concrete surface by altering the foundation that the surface sits upon.
- Concrete driveways and concrete steps.
- Interior floor slabs.
- Concrete pool decks or pool surrounds.
- Sunrooms with concrete floors.
- Concrete roadways & parking areas.
- Airport runways.
- Concrete patios & landings.
Concrete Raising Mudjacking
The basic concept is similar to drilling and polymer injection methods for concrete lifting and leveling. The process for lifting concrete with a primer (also called a slab float or polyurethane concrete float) is similar, but differs in the materials being pumped. Simply put, holes are drilled in a concrete slab, drilling fluid or polyurethane foam material is pumped under the slab and the voids under the concrete slab(s) are filled, thereby lifting the slab. The tuning process for Polyjacking and Mudjacking Polyjacking Mudjacking may be similar in that both are inserted through holes drilled into the concrete slab to fill in the voids and raise the slab, but that’s where the similarities end.
Large injection holes made for drilling can weaken the structural strength of the concrete, making it more prone to cracking in the future. The primer material does not expand, which makes it easier to control the concrete platform when lifting and filling voids. To make matters worse, the ground material is so thick that craftsmen have to drill many holes in the concrete. After the concrete has been lifted with the breaker material, a foam plug is inserted into the hole and the hole is sealed with concrete.
The earth drilling process begins with the strategic drilling of holes 1″ to 2″ wide and injecting material to fill any voids under the slab, lifting sagging concrete in minutes. In order to pump the Mudjacking mortar under the concrete, the contractor will need to drill a series of large holes in the slabs. You should not use a carrier slab primer because the concrete is too thick to fill thin cracks. Retaining walls or other obstacles placed too close to the slab can also make mud impassable.
Numerous doors and windows in a house that don’t close properly can also indicate that the slab needs to be leveled. The most important warning signs that your foundation needs leveling are growing cracks in your slab. Uplift due to a dramatic freeze-thaw cycle or subsidence due to rotting tree roots or water damage can cause the ground underneath to shift and crack the concrete. Whether it’s from poorly compacted backfill soil or tree roots, concrete can sag over time, causing a host of problems.
How can we help you?
Sidewalks • Basement floors • Office floors • Driveways
As patios, walkways, driveways, and concrete steps sink, they can crack and create uneven surfaces. Sinking concrete is unsightly, and it can create a tripping hazard.
Footings • Patios • Garage floors
A great alternative to repairing or replacing concrete slabs is to lift concrete, also known as slab sledding or concrete leveling. There is a high demand for concrete levelling and concrete lifting.
Pool decks • Warehouse floors
Mudjacked Slabjacking has been described as the most cost-effective alternative to replacing submerged concrete.
Sinking concrete can be a serious problem
If you suspect that something might be wrong with your concrete, leveling might be the solution.
